This analysis provides an overview of relevant national legislation and policies aiming to protect children from child labour in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It includes comparisons and linkages with international norms and standards on child labour, with a focus on those most applicable to child labour in agriculture and the cocoa sector.

The analysis builds on the national constitution, existing laws and conventions ratified in the country, existing good practice, and recent countrywide studies of child labour to propose a list of hazardous activities, which could be included in surveys and tools used to assess and monitor the prevalence of child labour in cocoa growing areas.
