NORC at the University of Chicago’s report “Assessing progress in reducing child labor in cocoa production in Cocoa Growing Areas of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana” presents a comprehensive analysis of the child labour situation in cocoa-growing areas of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. Based on data collected during the 2018/9 season, it offers insights for sector stakeholders, policy makers and practitioners on a notoriously complex issue. Key results from 2018/2019 show that 1.56m children are engaged in child labour in cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana.
