Children often struggle to recall when activities took place and how they spent their time in the recent past. To address this challenge, ICI developed the Children’s Time Use Calendar, a child-friendly data collection tool that uses visual cues and participatory techniques to help children report their daily activities.
The Calendar can be used for research, monitoring and evaluation purposes to better understand children’s time use, identify child labour and hazardous work, and assess the severity of children’s work engagement.
This resource includes:
- An overview document explaining the purpose of the tool, its applications, and key considerations for its use
- The tool itself, which includes the visual aid, guidance for enumerators and facilitators, and a digital form for recording and analysing the information collected
- The visual aid as a standalone document for printing purposes
