SUCDEN, an ICI partner, has recently published its human rights policy, aligned with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. It outlines the company’s commitment to addressing both child labour and forced labour in the cocoa supply chain.

Specifically, the policy states:

  • SUCDEN’s target is to eradicate the practice of forced labour, through country / region- specific risk analysis, due diligence processes and necessary responses.
  • SUCDEN will comply with laws and regulations on child labour across value chains, assess risks and monitor and remediate cases when appropriate.

ICI welcomes the publication of this document and the strong commitment SUCDEN is showing to protect children and to support cocoa communities.
