Mars, an ICI partner and board member, has published its first Cocoa for Generations report. This comes as part of its commitment to protect children, increase smallholder farmer income and preserve forests.
Mars launched its Cocoa for Generations strategy in 2018. This first report card lays out key results so far. These include 177,000 hazardous child labor awareness sessions and 19,000 households reached through child labor monitoring. It also presents a roadmap for the future, of which Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation Systems will form an important part in identifying and tackling child labor in the company's supply chain.
