Mondelez's sustainable cocoa supply reached 35% of its global needs, an increase of over 14 points compared with 2016. This is what emerges from our partner's 2017 annual report, which you can read here.

The report indicates that progress has been made with  support from different partners, including the International Cocoa Initiative, across four key cocoa origins (Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Indonesia and the Dominican Republic), in five focus areas -- farming, community, livelihoods, youth and environment.

From 2016 to 2017, 120,500 farmers (over 31%) in 1,085 communities (over 26%) have been reached. The Cadbury brand, throughout the UK and Ireland, has started sourcing Cocoa Life certified cocoa, while at the same time connecting consumers to cocoa farmers and communities, across the cocoa supply chain.

In 2017 Cocoa Life helped 52,000 women (+131%) gain access to financing and better financial education.  Community Child Protection Committees (CCPC) have been established in 516 communities, using holistic interventions to address the root causes of child labour. Child labour monitoring and remediation systems based in the communities have been set up in 137 communities (+43%).

 The aim of Cocoa Life is to reach 200,000 cocoa farmers and one million community members by 2022.
