The International Growth Centre conducted a baseline survey in 2009 that gathered data on a multitude of factors related to conditions and challenges faced by a large sample of cocoa farmers in the main cocoa-producing regions of Ghana. The survey focused on three general sets of indicators: living standards and wellbeing; farming practices and business performance; and the institutional and organizational capacity of the local industry in Ghana.
