  • Akrofoum D/A basic school gets new kindergarten block

    Parents, teachers and children of the Akrofuom cocoa community were all filled with joy as their chief cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the new Kindergarten (KG) block for the D/A Basic school. This activity took place on 10th April 2019 and was witnessed by the District Chief Executive, Honourable Derick Owusu Ambrose, District Director of the Ghana Education Service and other officials of the assembly, the ICI Country Director and Sustainable Sourcing representatives of The Hershey Company.   • Growing rice, growing prosperity - Empowering the women of Yawboadi
    8 March 2019
    In 2015, ICI entered Yawboadi, a cocoa-growing community located in the Ahafo Ano South East District in Ghana with the purpose to work with the community towards eliminating child labour. The community has a population of 577 inhabitants with the majority of the women assisting their husbands on the cocoa farm. Some of them cultivate a little rice to support the family income.
