ICI commissions sanitation facilities in schools30 June 2023Two sanitation facilities have been commissioned in Anwona and Ayokoa, two cocoa-growing communities in Adansi Asokwa district in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Funded by Nestle and implemented by the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI), these facilities were constructed to support pupils’ access to water, sanitation and hygiene facilities (WASH). The facilities in each community include a block of 10 toilets, complemented by a mechanised borehole, handwashing sink, waste bins and a changing room for girls and female teachers, and were handed over to the schools at the end of May.
