    Community Child Labour Risk Assessment - Data collections tools
    ICI’s Understanding Child Labour Risk study identified a limited set of community characteristics, which can be collected easily and at low cost, that can be used to predict a community’s child labour risk. The research team produced two, country-specific models – one for Côte d’Ivoire and one for Ghana – which can be used to identify and target the most vulnerable communities for support. By answering a few simple questions, a community can be classified in one of three categories: lower, medium or higher risk of child labour.     The International Labour Organization (ILO), the OECD, IOM and UNICEF have published a report ‘Ending child labour, forced and human trafficking in global supply chains‘. The new report is launched as part of Alliance 8.7, a global partnership committed to ending child labour and modern slavery, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

    Cash transfers, microentrepreneurial activity, and child work: Evidence from Malawi and Zambia
    This article examines the impacts of two large-scale cash transfer programmes in Malawi and Zambia on child labour. Both programmes increased children’s exposure to work in agriculture that may be harmful to them, yet resulted in positive impacts on children’s school attendance and material well-being. The results demonstrate some of the complex effects of increasing incomes in agricultural areas.
