This report, commissioned by the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) and conducted by Christophe Lecureuil of CLC Consultant and Glenn O’Neil of Owl RE, evaluates ICI’s influencing work between 2015 and 2020. Based on desk research, an online survey of ICI members and partners, and interviews with other stakeholders from the cocoa sector, it analyses the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation’s influencing and technical advocacy.

This study, produced by the Transport & Infrastructure Expertise Group for the European Commission, analyses the root causes of child labour in the cocoa supply chain in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana and seeks to identify gaps to be addressed. In addition, it proposes solutions to support the elimination of child labour and the development of sustainable and responsible cocoa production in both countries.

This summary provides an overview of key findings and messages from a report commissioned by the European Commission, “Ending child labour and promoting sustainable cocoa production in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana”. The report seeks to provide a detailed analysis of the root causes of child labour, and to propose solutions to address them.

This report by the Rainforest Alliance and Aidenvironment examines three different approaches taken to tackle child labour in Uganda’s coffee sector over three years as part of a pilot project.

The Child Labour Global Estimates 2020 report, prepared by ILO and Unicef, provides updated estimates of child labour at global level and by region. It discusses the potential impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and calls for immediate steps to be taken to eliminate child labour by 2025.
