Côte d'Ivoire launched the 2025–2029 National Action Plan (NAP) to combat child Trafficking, exploitation and labour on 4 June 2025. It focuses on three priority areas: improving children's access to basic social services, reducing the socio-economic vulnerability of families, and strengthening the institutional and legal framework for combating child labour. CUBIC collaborated with Save the Children Côte d’Ivoire to develop an intervention aimed at reducing hazardous child labor on cocoa farms and increasing school attendance. Using behavioral science to guide the process, we developed and tested the “village social contract” model in ten villages in the Man department. It was found that this approach was successful in reducing hazardous child labor and injuries on cocoa farms. In this paper, authors evaluate two randomised livelihood intervention programs, aimed to reduce child labour, particularly in its most exploitative forms, in rural areas of Peru. The authors evaluate a livelihood intervention provided to farmers in Peru who use the labour of their children on their family farms, accompanied by an education intervention aimed at improving the quality of schools and an awareness-raising intervention.

This study carried out on behalf of the “Due Diligence Fund” (DDF) as part of the “Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative” (SASI) and members of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO) assessed the feasibility of a cross-company grievance mechanism in the cocoa sector in Côte d’Ivoire.
