CUBIC collaborated with Save the Children Côte d’Ivoire to develop an intervention aimed at reducing hazardous child labor on cocoa farms and increasing school attendance. Using behavioral science to guide the process, we developed and tested the “village social contract” model in ten villages in the Man department. It was found that this approach was successful in reducing hazardous child labor and injuries on cocoa farms. ICI has developed a training module on protecting children from pesticide exposure in their everyday environment, at home and when they move around their community.

ICI has developed a training module tailored for spraying service providers on protecting children from pesticides. This training complements agricultural training by focusing specifically on safe practices to prevent pesticide exposure among children.

ICI has developed two films that provide practical advice on how to better protect children from the harmful effects of pesticides.
