Addressing child labour requires a coordinated effort, bringing together different actors to strengthen child protection systems, improve referral pathways, and support sustainable change for children, families, and communities.
The Landscape & Referral Pilot Project in Ghana was introduced to address coordination gaps by bringing together cocoa companies, civil society, public social protection services, and community structures under a shared, district-wide framework. It unites stakeholders operating in the same geographical area to align activities, reduce overlap and duplication, strengthen referral pathways and case management systems, ultimately enabling partners to pool expertise and resources, and maximize collective impact.
The project has helped establish a District Child Protection Committee, which is now driving change across the district on child protection issues. It has also enabled district departments and agencies to work more closely with each other, as well as with cocoa companies operating in the districts.
