Ferrero, a partner of the International Cocoa Initiative, has launched its 2019 sustainability report, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen sustainability in its cocoa supply chain.
In 2018/19, Ferrero covered 44% of the cooperatives they source their cocoa from with Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation Systems, representing over 50,000 farming households, and aims to scale this up to 100%.
Among the other results reported by Ferrero is the roll-out of Village Savings and Loans Associations to support women’s empowerment. 250 VSLAs were established, involving over 6,700 community members.
