Orkla Snacks Joins the International Cocoa Initiative as an industry member 

Orkla Snacks, a leader in confectionery, biscuits, and salty snacks across the Nordic and Baltic countries, has become a member of the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI). This development reinforces Orkla Snacks’ commitment to responsible sourcing and improving the lives of children and families in cocoa-growing communities.

“We welcome Orkla Snacks to our network,” said Matthias Lange, Executive Director of ICI. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ethical business practices and sustainable supply chains, and we look forward to working together to deliver tangible benefits for cocoa-growing communities.” 

According to the company, it has long prioritised sustainability and ethical sourcing, with most of its chocolate brands using 100% certified cocoa for many years. By joining ICI’s membership, Orkla Snacks aims to contribute to collective efforts to prevent and address child labour and forced labour in cocoa production. For the company, this partnership is a step toward addressing these issues through industry collaboration and best practices.
